I'll share some information about what will happen if you suppress your QuickBooks Desktop. If the issue is with the QuickBooks Desktop application itself, this step will isolate it. To begin, here's how:

 

  1. Press and hold the Ctrl key and then double-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon. A reminder, don't release the Ctrl key until you see the "No company Open" window unless QuickBooks freezes or gives you an error.
  2. Select a company file, then choose open.
