To resolve this issue, we may need to get the latest release of QuickBooks installed. You can press the F2 button to see what release you have.

 

Below are the releases required to print 1099 NEC forms in QuickBooks Desktop for Windows:

 

  • QuickBooks 2022/Enterprise 22 - R3_71 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2021/Enterprise 21 - R8_62 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2020/Enterprise 20 - RR13_39 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2019/Enterprise 19 - R16_55 (or later)

 

Also, make sure you've used the latest release for QuickBooks and your payroll tax table so you can print the form and three pages for 1099-NEC will show.

 

Let me show you how.

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Under Overview, select Update Now.
  4. Click Get Updates

Once done, here's how you can update your payroll tax table to ensure that your taxes and forms are up to date.

  1. Go to Employees.
  2. Select Get Payroll Updates.
  3. Press on Download entire payroll update.
  4.  Hit on Update
