Generally speaking, this is a quick fix. Doesn't always work, but we support 15+ clients running server-side Enterprise Solutions or Desktop utilizing Database Manager Server. At best, it's clunky and fragile, and it breaks itself for no good reason regularly.
All that said, here's what works about 75% of the time:
- Launch services.msc from Run.
- Navigate to the service called QuickBooksDBXX (where XX is relative to whichever number Intuit decided to assign to your installation this time).
- Open the service and click on the Log On tab at the top.
- For the Log on as option, if it's trying to connect as the QuickBooksDBXX user it created, click instead on the radio button for Local System account.
- Click OK.
- Now, right-click on the QuickBooksDBXX service and click Start.
If she fires up, you should be good. If not, I'd say contact Intuit support, but you know where that'll getcha.
Good luck!
