I know that this hasn't been easy for you, corky3293.
I would love to help you fix these errors.
Can you tell me where your company file is saved? These errors usually occur when your company file is located on a network. We can run a series of troubleshooting steps to make sure that your file is free of any possible data damage. Before doing so, let's ensure that your is up-to-date with the latest release.
Let's start by utilizing our QuickBooks Tool Hub. You can follow the steps provided by my peers Angelyn_T to install and run these tools. This will scan your file and resolve some data errors. If still the same, you can restore your most recent backup copy. Let me walk you through the steps.
- Go to File at the top menu bar, then select Open or Restore Company.
- Choose the radio button for Restore a backup copy, then click Next.
- Select Local Backup and hit on the Next button.
- Click on the drop-down for Look-In and choose the location of the backup file.
- Locate the backup file from the folder. The file name appears as [Company Name].qbb.
- Choose Open, then click on Next.
- Select on the drop-down for Save in, then click where you want to save the restored file.
- Enter the name in the File name field. Note: The Save as type field will automatically show QuickBooks Files (*.QBW).
- Then hit Save.
You can check this guide here for your reference: Restore a backup of your company file.
If the steps won't work, let's suppress QuickBooks Desktop. This helps determine if the issue is with the data or the software itself.
Here's how:
- Close the QuickBooks Software.
- Press and hold the Ctrl key, then double-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon.
Important: Don't release the Ctrl key until you see the "No Company Open" window unless QuickBooks freezes or gives you an error. - Select a company file, then choose Open.
If the issue persists, I'd suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team . They have the tools to do a screen sharing to further investigate the root cause of it.
