Resolved!  Thank you to the wonderful support person who did a screen-sharing session with me and stepped me thru the update process.  The steps could have been documented and much frustration avoided.

 

My mistake was trying to find a phone number.  Follow the directions in QB:

  • Open QuickBooks.
  • Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  • Click Contact Us.
  • Enter a short description of your concern. (I typed 40001)
  • Hit Let's talk and then choose a way to connect.

 

I was called back about the time it said in the message and she stepped through the update.

 

Hopefully next time I will remember about the QB Desktop Help.

 

This experience left a bad taste in my mouth!!!
