I want to add that I am also facing the same issue of being asked to create an Intuit account for services I do not want on the QB Desktop version I use. I also use Desktop for security purposes, which the Intuit log in completely counters. Furthermore it's a complete waste of time to figure out how to get rid the Intuit pop up when all I want to do is access the file and work. Why is Intuit preventing that? At the very least, it should promote Quickbooks Desktop as an online product because that appears to be what Intuit is doing.
