Aside from making sure no credit cards are stored in QB, turning off payment prompts seems to have helped. I probably just jinxed it. 

Also disabling integrated applications, which I never used in the first place. My needs are simple. QB makes things too difficult.

 

Except those were disabled in my business file, and no prompts, except every 90 days. Personal file, yes. GAHHH. I hope it's fixed now.

 

I realize we purchased a LICENSE to use the software, and we pretty much don't OWN it, but put a danged disclaimer in the license, in case some of us are just too stupid to use professional bookkeeping software securely. I'm an experienced bookkeeper AND a web designer. I don't need you to save me. And stop making us phone home to Intuit just to open a company file.
