I am trying to change the Mailing Address on the Account Profile Contact Information to our PO Box and receive an error message that the Physical Address cannot be a PO.

I'm here to share some information when changing your company's mailing address, LavaLandscapeCo.
In QuickBooks, the system won't allow you to enter your company's mailing address the same as your PO Box address.
The Mailing Address on the Account Profile Contact Information field should be your company's physical address.
You can take a look at this article for more information when updating your company's information: Change your business name, contact info, or EIN in QuickBooks Online.
I'm just around if there's anything that I can help. Take care!

That doesn't make any sense. The physical address for my business is out of my home. I have a PO Box in which I receive all my mail for my business. This has come up because somehow instead of checks coming to my mailing address from one of my clients, intuit informed me that it was coming to my physical address. I don't EVER want checks from clients coming to my physical address.

Good evening, @LavaLandscapeCo.
Thanks for following up on this thread. Allow me to share some information about having a PO Box.
At this time, QuickBooks Online doesn't offer the option to have a PO Box. The Physical Address cannot be a PO Box message is a default reminder that QuickBooks accepts only a physical address.
For additional information on how to change email or business info, you can check out this article: Update business and account information.

I face the same challenge. Is QuickBooks working to fix this problem; I'm sure there are dozens (if not hundreds) of businesses facing the same issue.

Hi there, toddschwartz.
For now, you still need to enter a physical location in the Mailing or Company Address in QBO. We appreciate and have taken note of all the feedback and suggestion about this.
You can visit this site to get the latest updates and newly added features in QBO: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/.
Let me just also re-share this article about changing company information in QBO for additional reference: Change Your Business Name, Contact Info, Or EIN In QuickBooks Online.

Has this been resolved? This is also an issue on the Payroll Tax Returns also in IOP. I have clients that are not receiving correspondences from the IRS and Department of Revenue as a result of this. The IRS is changing their mailing address automatically to their physical address and the post office is refusing to deliver because they do not have a mailbox. This is extremely frustrating!

Nearly 100% of my clients use PO Boxes for mail because in the place that I live, USPS does not deliver to homes. Only UPS and FedEx deliver to homes in my area. PO Boxes are the only option for getting USPS mail. This is absolutely unacceptable that there isn't a separate physical address and mailing address. Quickbooks needs to add another address field to solve this issue. If this isn't solved soon, I'm cancelling QBO.

Jenop,
I like many others are frustrated with Intuit with the recent changes with QBO lately.. the worst of which is the rash decision to dump the QBO app.. Love the email this morning that stated "due to lack of useage" news flash.. everyone of my client's users actually use the app, and I know a number of other Pro Advisors nationwide that have a pyrimid of users that rely on the app as well. We all dislike the browser interface.
Secondly, on the PO Box issue.. It's not just the need to list the business address as a physical street address vs a PO Box that Intuit has pissed off customers. I HAD my Pro Advisor account on autopay, everything was working great until Intuit made a change around Dec 2020, and now you can't have a PO Box listed on a Pro Advisor's Billing card address. The payment will not go through, even for the people on the back end. You can set the physical address to a real, physical address, and set the PO Box to the correct bank matching PO Box address, but the transaction still does not go through. What kind of screwed up payment system did Intuit design.. hundreds of thousands of businesses across the USA use a PO Box to securely recieve mail... What do you think supports the postal system with over 1/3 of the US Postal system funds every year? Business PO Box Rates!!! I pay $326.00 for a PO Box for 6 months.. and gladly so I don't have my mail stolen by the homeless in the area.. This must be fixed or I, like many will be forced to look elsewhere to take my bookkeeping, and our clients books.

Is QB ever going to support PO BOXs? How has this not been fixed???
