I think the programmers have 'lost the plot' in this case.
Perhaps they think everything is migrating to be online and they want to keep us safe in their harbour.
Someone forgot to remind them that a desktop programme was just that, desktop with possibility to go online (help pages etc)... but we mostly wanted an OFFLINE programme. Where WE can choose IF and WHEN we connect to the internet.
My data is safer on my computer... logging in to Intuit first does not make my local file safer, it actually makes it less so.
Please, Intuit, either turn this OFF, or have a clear switch in the preferences that we can switch it off ourselves.
