To paste the account in the journal entry, you'll have to click the Account field first, then paste it. The steps below will ensure your success with this:
- From the Chart of Accounts window, select the account you want to copy.
- Click the Edit menu and select Copy Account. Alternatively, you can utilize the shortcut keys (CTRL + C).
- To paste it in the journal entry, you'll have to click the Account field first, then click the Edit menu and select Paste Account or press CTRL + V.

As another option, you can select the desired account from the drop-down list, so you don't have to go back and forth from the Chart of Accounts.
- Click the Account drop-down arrow.
- Enter a keyword.
- Click the account from the list.
