I want to let people know how I fixed this issue.  It appears that when Quickbooks updated to the 2020 version, they stopped using certain data fields.  Unfortunately they didn't tell the other parts of the program that they weren't available anymore, so those parts still needed the data.  So it gave an error about needing the data even though there were no fields to fill in!  I had 2 accounts that thought they were online even though I had decommissioned them back in 2010.  Every time I tried to remove them from the online, quickbooks would crash.  One was a bank account, the other a credit card.  So, for the bank account I noticed it had no customer ID on the online tab.  I made up an ID number and saved it, then went back and I was able to deactivate it without quickbooks crashing.  This didn't work for the credit card account because it wouldn't let me save it with just the id field filled in.  It wanted more fields filled in that didn't exist!  Luckily I only had about 20 transactions in that account, so I created a new account and edited each transaction in the old account to be in the new account.  Then I was able to delete the old account.  And now I can backup and my file passes verification.  I was online with quickbooks support for 5 hours and they couldn't figure it out, but as I was working with them I was trying a lot of things and this worked.  I hope this helps somebody out there.
