I appreciate you for trying the different solutions to process invoices and bills seamlessly. Let's perform some additional troubleshooting steps to resolve this right away. Usually, when clicking the Save and Close or Save button, the transaction will automatically be saved and won't take a minute or two to process it. Since you've experienced a longer time to save them, this could be caused by the following:

 

  • The company name may be too long.
  • A damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
  • A corrupt hard drive.
  • The program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged.
  • A damaged Windows operating system.

 

For now, I recommend running the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix the uncommon issues in your software. Here's how:

  1. Close QBDT, then download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
  2. Once done, open the file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe) and follow the on-screen instruction to install.
  3. After that, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  4. Select the Program Problems, then Quick Fix my Program.
  5. Reopen QBDT.

However, if the issue persists, you may consider upgrading your QBDT software to the latest version available or update your software to the latest release. This way, you can keep QuickBooks up-to-date and ensure to have the latest features and fixes.
