Thanks for actively responding to this post, TheSeltzerGroupNYC.

I appreciate you for sharing some points in this thread. Let me add some information regarding QuickBooks Desktop login settings.

In QuickBooks Desktop, you have the option to change the login setting so you can stay logged in to QuickBooks company file without having to enter a username and password.

If you're the admin of the company file, you have the power to choose how long the users can remain logged in with a maximum of 90 days (default is 2 days).

However there are things to consider to avail this option. Among these are the following:

  • Company file must not be on a hosted environment that uses roaming profiles. Only Company Files in local can avail the said feature.
  • When multiple users are accessing the same Company File on the same computer, one user has to explicitly logoff before another user can login.
  • Credit Card Protection must not enabled in the Company File.
  • Your QuickBooks Desktop (Pro, Premier, or Enterprise) must be at least on the following releases to enable this option: 2020 R1, 2019 R9 and 2018 R120.
  • Users selecting this new option must safeguard their computers and Windows accounts in order to ensure that their Company Files are protected.

Here's how to change your login settings:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Click Set Up Users and Passwords.
  3. Choose Manage Login Settings.
  4. Click Company Preferences.
  5. Under Manage Login Settings, click the radio button for Keep user logged in for, and choose a period.
  6. Click OK to save changes.
