It's my pleasure to help you change the file location in QuickBooks Desktop.
First, you'll want to copy our company file's current location. Then, navigation to the new location where you want to save it, right-click on an open area and select Paste. Assuming you copied the file, this should paste a new copy in this location.
Here's how:
- From your QuickBooks, go to File.
- Choose Open or Restore Company,
- Select Open a company file. Then click Next.
- Within this window, navigate to the new location of your copied company file.
- Select the file to highlight it and click Open. Your company file should now appear on the login screen.
Following the steps listed above should allow you to change the location where your Quickbooks company file is saved.
I also recommend securing a back up of your company file for future need. Just go to File and click on Open or Restore Company. From there you'll have an option to restore a backup copy in the next window.
