You can't save an individual sale, such as a single invoice or sales receipt, to a thumb drive as a separate, viewable file, TripleP.
If you only need a record of a specific sale or a report of multiple sales to view in a different program, you can export the report to Excel or a PDF and then save that file to your thumb drive.
Here's how:
- Open the Reports menu and choose the report you need, like Sales by Customer Summary or Transaction List by Date. Apply filters if needed to focus on specific sales.
- Click the Excel button at the top to export the data as a new worksheet, or click the Print button and choose Save as PDF.
- When saving, select your thumb drive as the location and give the file a clear, descriptive name.
Alternatively, I recommend creating a backup of your entire company file and saving that backup to a thumb drive. This method is the safest and most reliable way to protect your data.
For step-by-step backup instructions, see this article: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Feel free to reach out again if you need further assistance with the program.
