They froze my account on 7/3/25 after I spent $8,900—claiming I hit a $10K daily "limit" of my own money! The money I entrust QB with.
I was mid-crisis—starting over after leaving my ex, needing to rent an apartment, buy furniture, and rebuild my life. I called support, calmly as best I could explain that I needed access to my funds. Their response? “You've spent t$8900 already”, and I replied "If, I wanted to spend all of it couldn't I?"
They promised the freeze would lift at 12:01 AM on 7/4. It didn’t. Surprise: no support on the 4th of July. No chat. No humans. Just a voicemail saying “enjoy the holiday with friends and family.” TOO PERFECT!
It’s now 7/5 at 2:42 AM, I’m in my car, again, still frozen out of my account. No override. No resolution.
Because of this freeze:
I missed a flight to a sales presentation in San Diego
I had to delay my apartment deposit
I lost over $10K in potential commissions
I lost respect from my kids watching me sleep in a car
I lost time, opportunity, and peace of mind
So again—do NOT use QB Checking. They froze my money, ruined my 4th, blocked my livelihood, and left me completely stranded. I didn’t just lose sales—I lost the attempt to try.
If someone from quickbooks tells me to submit this complaint to the higher ups and greendot, just please don't.
If someone suggest that I should have opeaned another accoujnt for these situations. Shhhhh don't.
If someone suggests that I talk this complaint to a different wwebsite and do more for QB's just let that though that's in your head go, the only response or suggestion that I would take to heart if someone letting me know when my freeze is lifted. Sinc we are on hours 36 of being frozen out of my account THANK YOU QB, and GreenDot aka Pass the Buck scapegoat who even have less customer service. Please before anyone repsonds or reaches out (very doubtful) or does anything else, please unfreeze my account first.
I AM ANNOUNCING THAT I AM THE ONLY ONE SPENDING THE MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT SO PLEASE DON'T FREEZE IT TELLING ME IT'S FOR MY PROTECTION, WHEN THIS HAS BEEN THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND "SYSTEM" THAT FREEZES ACCOUNTS FOR $10K to put my life back together. THANK YOU
