Thank you for bringing up the concern regarding the sales tax listed in the description of your packing list in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), TINA_ATA. We acknowledge the importance of having clear and accurate documentation that meets your business needs. Let's make a note of your insights for future reference.
The Sales Tax showing on the description on packing slip signifies that the item is taxable. This helps ensure compliance and allows businesses to identify which items are subject to tax.
I recommend sharing your ideas or suggestions with our product engineers. They will carefully review your input and may consider it for future updates. Our team is dedicated to improving our products and enhancing the customer experience.
Here’s how you can share your feedback:
1. Hover over the Help menu and select the Send Feedback Online option.
2. Choose Product Suggestion, and a pop-up window will appear.
3. Type your feedback in the space provided.
4. Click the Send Feedback button.
In the meantime, we can remove the description field from your packing list when it is printed.
Let me show you how:
- In your company file, go to Lists menu at the top and select Templates.
- This action will open a page displaying the list of different transaction types.
- From there, double-click on the Packing slip option to view more options.
- Click the Additional Customization button to display the Packing Slip screen.
- Go to the Columns tab, then uncheck boxes for Description under Print.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
Once done, you can create a test print with a packing list if the description will be still added.
