Hello Mike,

I hear your concern and understand your urgency regarding the availability of the 1099 correction function. Let me provide you with the latest updates and steps to stay up-to-date as we approach the launch.

The rollout of the 1099 corrections feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) has been strategically paused to ensure we comply fully with current IRS regulatory standards. This pause allowed us to add important verification processes and validation steps to guarantee that everything is handled accurately and in compliance with applicable tax laws.

Corrections for 1099 forms for the 2024 filing year are set to be available by mid-February 2025. To stay informed, keep an eye on the Corrections Banner at the top of your Tax Center page. This banner will notify you when the corrections feature is live. Until then, the message "Corrections will be available later in February" indicates that the feature is still being prepared for activation. Here's how to locate it in QBO:

  1. Navigate to the Taxes menu on the left-hand side.
  2. Click on Tax Center.
  3. Look for the banner at the top of the page for updates on when corrections will be available.

Furthermore, you'll find it helpful to review this comprehensive guide which provides a useful checklist to ensure everything is in order for your year-end tasks: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.

We’re dedicated to keeping you informed and ensuring you have all the details you need about 1099 corrections. Should you have more questions or need further assistance, the thread is available around the clock to assist you. Take care.
