I can share some steps so you can open your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Gale9.

Before we proceed, may I know if you've encountered any specific error while opening QBDT? This way, we can provide the steps to the appropriate concern.

As of now, please don't click your QBDT icon multiple times since there are times that it won't open right away. It's best to allow the program to take some time to load before you continue.

If it still won't open, I recommend restarting your computer and reopening your QBDT as an administrator. We can also use QuickBooks Toolhub and run the Quick Fix My Program so it can quickly repair your program.

Here's how:

Step 1: Download the QuickBooks Tool hub

  1. Close your QuickBooks.
  2. Download the recent version (1.6.0.5) of the QuickBooks Tool HubSave it somewhere you can locate it.
  3. If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
  4. Kindly open the file you've downloaded. It is named QuickBooksToolHub.exe.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. Once done installing, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Step 2: Run Quick Fix My Program

  1. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select Quick Fix My Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

If the issue persists after you've followed the steps above, you can proceed to Solution 2 and other solutions in this article: QuickBooks Desktop won't open.
