the button in your invoice that says "add product or services" is actually a drop down and you can add a subtotal there.

It adds the word subtotal twice, once is under the description. This is not needed and even after I delete it, it returns. How can this be fixed?

The subtotal is added twice, once under description. I delete it and it just returns to be seen on my invoices. The new modern invoice, is not modern at all, it is very limiting. I was on a call with a QB Tech for 2 hours to at least get it tolerable. Who is making these decisions? I know someone has a way to make this better on your team. Thank you,

Thank you for sharing a screenshot, @RhondaMC. I'm here to share details about Subtotal in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When using the Modernized template, the subtotal is designed to appear under Product or service and in the Description columns when printing or sending your invoices.

If you prefer not to have the subtotal duplicated, you may opt for a different template. You can easily select an alternative template on the invoice creation page.

1. Go to +New and select Invoice.
2. Click Manage and hit Design to expand.
3. In the Other templates section, choose another template.
4. Print the invoice.

Thank you for responding. I do not have "subtotal" listed in my Products and Service Tab. I am using the Subtotal Dropdown feature for all of my invoices. You can only "see" the 2 subtotals listed when you print or send your invoice. It does not show when you are "in" the invoice. This only started happening when I went to the New Modern format. My previous invoices did not have this issue because we had custom created them. We have also walked through customizing the invoice and I did not see Subtotal as an option we could change, but please correct me if I am wrong.

this is far from an acceptable answer.. the sub total now adds in the total making the dollars of invoice/estimate etc incorrect.

very poor answer... amazing that is was even given.
