I've got your back and answer your concern about upgrading your QBDT subscription, WB19681.
Being on the multi-user mode shouldn't be a problem when upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to the newest version. As long as it's within the QBDT 21-23 versions, you should be able to upgrade by following the steps provided by my colleague above.
Just make sure to install the updates for all company users. It ensures that the other users can access and manage the company file seamlessly and use the updated features.
Furthermore, please be reminded that QBDT 2022-present versions are now subscription-based. It means that you'll need a new license when you want to upgrade your QBDT to 2024. With that, kindly take note of your current license, as this is one of the requirements for the upgrade.
To proceed with the process, kindly follow the steps below:
- Go to this link: Downloads & Updates, and fill in the form accordingly.
- Click Search and then select Download.
- Choose QuickBooks License Agreement and tap on Let's get started.
- Once routed, enter your QBDT license number to look for your QBDT 2024 and hit Search.
- Select the email address you use to receive OTP from Intuit. Once received, enter the OTP on the field.
- Locate your QBDT 2024 and click Install.
- Once done, select Open QuickBooks and activate it.
For additional reference about upgrading to a newer version of QBDT, kindly check this article: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop subscription.
Nevertheless, if you still can't upgrade your QBDT after following the steps, I recommend contacting our Sales Team. They can help you upgrade your QBDT subscription and enjoy the new features included with the update.
Also, please be reminded about the discontinuation of older QBDT versions by clicking this link: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.
Additionally, you can add user restrictions in QBDT. This article could help you with this so you can manage user accessibility: QuickBooks Desktop users and restrictions.
Please reply to this thread if you have additional questions about upgrading your QBDT version. I'll make sure you're taken care of. Keep safe.
