Try closing any background reports, like accounts receivable or payroll detail report before you close out of QB. It remembers your windows settings and will want to render whatever reports you have open before allowing you to do any work.

Don't fall for the "try Enterprise" trick, it is the same software with a handful of extra reports and options you probably do not need. NO SPEED IMPROVEMENTS. This is one of the most predatory, unethical companies on the planet that you could do business with. When they do get fined from class action lawsuits, they happily pay the bill and just keep shafting their customers again and again. Lie, cheat and swindle customers out of 68million, then pay a 6 million fine. For them, its not illegal. Unethical class action fines are just a cost of doing business to this company. NOTHING matters to them except making the stock go up over last year. With so many competitors on the market, and lack-luster new customers, they can only squeeze the jewels of existing customers to wring out more revenue for the same-old-same-old rotten to the core sluggish, bloated software. <Opinion mode off>
