I am in the same situation. I have Quickbooks Premier Contractor 2021 Edition and pay for an Enhanced Payroll Subscription each year $695. I am not interested in anything online nor subscription based. I would like to continue using my Desktop version. I have attached a few articles with information about Quickbooks changs and alternatives. I may look at going with Freshbook.
