Hello there, @mikeshick.

Let me share additional information about the error 80070057 that you're getting when accessing your file remotely.

If your company file is saved in a different location, relocate it to its default location.

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Browse the location of your company file.
  3. Right-click the company file (.QBW), then select Copy.
  4. Browse to the default location, right-click, and select Paste.
  5. Location: C:/Users/Public/PublicDocuments/Intuit/QuickBooks/Company Files
  6. Open QuickBooks, then select Find a company file.
  7. Select Local Drives, then search the company file name.
  8. Select the correct company file, then Open.

If you're on a multi-user, be sure to share your files after you've moved them.

If the issue persists, let's perform another troubleshooting. QuickBooks File Doctor helps fix common errors when working on your company file. To use File Doctor, download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
