I would like to share some information about batch updating company files in QuickBooks Desktop, as opposed to updating each file individually.
When upgrading to a newer version of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, or Enterprise, you are required to update each company file individually. This process only needs to be done once.
However, QuickBooks File Manager is a standalone application designed for QuickBooks Accountants and QuickBooks Enterprise Accountants. It stores company files, along with usernames and passwords, in a secure environment.
- The batch upgrade greatly reduces the time of upgrading company files by upgrading all selected files at once.
- You can batch upgrade files by going to Batch Upgrade > Clients > Upgrade selected files.
Note: You’ll be able to view all unsuccessful upgrades within this window by selecting List unsuccessful Upgrades.
