The Sales Tax option isn't visible in the Accounting area from the Advanced section. We can only see it in the Taxes tab. Let me reiterate the steps to navigate Sales tax so you can turn it off.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In the left panel of your QBO page, there are tabs. Look for the Taxes option and click it.
  2. From the Sales tax section, click the Sales Tax Settings beside Economic Nexus on the right side of your screen.
  3. You'll be routed to another page, and on the right side of your screen, there's a Turn off sales tax option. Click it.
  4. A prompt question will show. Select Yes, to finally turn off your sales tax.
