There are several possible causes why the program stops working and some of them are the following:

 

  • Your company name may be too long
  • You may have a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file
  • You may have corruption on your hard drive
  • Your program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged
  • You may have a damaged Windows operating system

 

To isolate this, we'll have to run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This fixes serious problems and difficulties they may encounter when using QuickBooks Desktop. We advise using this program on Windows 10, 64-bit, for the best experience. Let's start by downloading the Tool Hub:

 

  1. Close your QuickBooks.
  2. Make sure to download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install, then agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation completes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to run the tool hub.

 

After that, we're now ready to launch the Quick Fix my Program manual. This shuts down any open background processes QuickBooks uses. It'll run a quick repair on your software.

 

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Choose Quick Fix my Program.
