Hi there, @brentgray22. I'll share some steps to ensure you'll be able to fix your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) access issue.
To start, let's ensure that you meet the minimum system requirements to run QBDT 2021 to prevent any issues while accessing it. Also, make sure that it is updated to the latest release to have the recent features and product improvements.
If verified that you meet the criteria above, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve this. To do so, you can run the QuickBooks Diagnostic Tool. This diagnoses and fix issues with Microsoft components the QBDT program uses. Let me guide you on how:
- Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub. If you don't have one, download the most recent version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
- Next, select Program Problems in the Tool Hub.
- Click QuickBooks Program Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
- Once finishes, restart your computer and relaunch QuickBooks.
If the same thing happens, we can uninstall and reinstall your QBDT fix company file issues by renaming your program's folders. No worries, because it won’t affect your data at all once reinstalled.
I'm always here ready to lend a hand if you have other concerns managing your account. Have a good one and stay safe.
