Is there a specific reason you're using QB Online? QB Desktop is a much more robust program.
If you use Bank Feed, then you do need to upgrade every 3 years as they change the banking protocols. But pending what your bank allows you to download directly, you may have the option to continue importing the info. So there may be no need to upgrade until you want to.
