I really value your 30 years of dedication to QuickBooks, @C Belisle. Please know that we don't want you to go through this.

 

I'm here to guide you on how you can print a 1096 form in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

No matter what kind of 1099 it is, you can print it in QuickBooks. You'll have to go through the Wizard again to print your 1096 form in the system. The option should be available below the Print 1099 option. 

 

Go as follow: 

 

  1. Go to Vendors and select 1099 Forms. 
  2. Click Print/E-file 1099 Forms.
  3. Choose Print 1099-NEC or Print 1099-MISC, then hit OK after selecting the date range. 
  4. Pick all vendors you wish to print 1099s for and click Print 1096s
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
