I wish you didn't need to jump through all of those hoops in order to access QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @raf77. Let me make this up for you.

 

  1. Let us first turn off the internet on your computer (This will prevent the ads from trying to launch in the Left Navigation Bar).
  2. Open your QBDT and go to the customer file.
  3. Edit the QBDT User preference to turn off Left Navigation Bar.
  4. Turn the internet back on and use QBDT as normal with Left Navigation Bar turned off.
