I spoke with Quickbooks too and it appears they are not going to make any changes to this as it is optimized to work with the forms they sale from intuit. They have said this is approved by IRS:
- This is working as designed. QuickBooks is optimized to work with the 1099 forms sold at https://intuitmarket.intuit.com/tax-forms/1099-form s. The format of the date is approved by IRS and they will accept forms with a 4 digit date. Even though the date may look like a 6 digit number, all red text is invisible to the IRS scanning machines that process these forms so it will only see the 2022 printed.
Does anyone know for sure if the IRS will accept these forms with a 4 digit year printed on them?
