This is strange behavior, Linda.
You can still access your company file in QuickBooks Desktop 2019 even if it's no longer supported. We won't lock your account to have you upgrade to the latest version.
Did you encounter any error messages before getting locked out? If so, I encourage sharing a screenshot.
Otherwise, you're password could be expired. It's the reason you're locked out. Let's use the Automated Password Reset Tools to resolve this. Here's how:
- Download the Automated password tool for QuickBooks Desktop.
- Select your version of QuickBooks Desktop.
- Fill in the QuickBooks license number and business information.
- Click Next.
- Accept the license agreement. The Automated Password Reset tool will auto-download. (If the auto download didn't work, select Download now.)
- Run the Automated Password Reset tool and then enter the token number received via email.
- From the QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down, select the same QuickBooks version.
- Select Browse for Company File, then choose the company file you can't access.
- Enter the username.
- Create a temporary password and then confirm it.
- Select Reset Password to complete the process.
