The Bill Reminders are entered as a Recurring Bill with a Template Name that identifies them, as Type Reminder, various Remind days before transaction date (usually 5), usually Monthly interval on the ?? of every 1 month(s) and with a start date of the first time it will be due.

 

The only way I know they are coming due is to come back to Recurring Transactions and look at the template.  Then I Use it to create the bill.  Then I must Skip Next Date from the drop down or it continues to show the same Next Date forever.  It really doesn't remind me at all (doesn't become a Task or anything anywhere else).
