Upgrading your company file from the 2007 version to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2021 is a big leap, KurtMueller. And, I'm here to guide you so you can open the file to the latest version.
You would need to go from 2007 to 2010 to 2013 to 2016 to 2019 to 2021, and restore the file in between. Let's make sure your file is free from error. You can run the following steps below.
- Ensure your anti-virus software is on the latest update.
- Restore qbdmgr.exe and qbdmgrN.exe from the virus vault or quarantine.
- Prevent QBDT Directory from being scanned by adding exceptions on your anti-virus software.
- Repair the QBDT program.
Once done, download and install QBDT 2021. Then, upgrade your company files after switching to a new version. In case you're getting an error, download and use the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix problems and errors.
In line with Intuit's discontinuation plan for older products, discontinued products cannot be registered for the first time.
