To start, let's make sure you're QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. Keeping your software up-to-date will help fix minor errors within the system. Here's how to update your version:
- Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Click the Update Now tab, then select Get Updates to start the download.
- When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
- When prompted, accept the option to install the new release.
If you're still getting similar results, let's utilize the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix this crashing problem. This tool is used to deal with network problems, company file damage, performance issues, etc. Follow these steps to download and install the latest Tool Hub:
- Close your QuickBooks.
- Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
- Open the QuickBookstoolhub.exe file. It gets saved in the download folder.
- Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click Finish.
- Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
From there, let's run the Quick Fix my Program tool.
- In the Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
- Select Quick Fix my Program.
- Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.
