To migrate or move your data from QBDT to QBO, you’ll need to upgrade your software to the latest version. You can use the trial version to do this.
Please refer to these steps:
- Back up your QBDT 2016 data first. You can follow the steps I shared above or refer to this article: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
- Download a free trial of QBDT 2022 (ensure your computer meets the system requirements for the 2022 version).
- Restore your QBDT 2016 data on your QBDT 2021 free trial.
