Hi there, Mgruby.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. This isn't the type of feelings that I expect you to have, and we know how much time it can take when something isn’t working the way you need it. I also appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've done to fix the issue about Desktop crashes or displaying unusual behavior. With this, I'll be sharing extra details about Internet Explorer 11 and ensure you can perform an alternative way so you can get back on track.

Internet Explorer 11 is the recent browser for QuickBooks Desktop but as of June 15, 2021, Microsoft will no longer support it. However, we have a built-in browser that replaces Internet Explorer 11 in QBDT. Then, last June 10, 2022, all supported versions of QuickBooks Desktop will begin to use our new custom browser.1 that's reliable and will include critical security updates.

All you have to do is update to the latest release to make sure you receive future security updates. Since you already performed this, rest assured that your software is up-to-date and always has the latest features and fixes.

Additionally, you can also migrate to QuickBooks Online where security and critical updates happen automatically. Please know that while Internet Explorer may not be utilized for some online services, it's still needed for QuickBooks to function correctly.

You can open this article to view further details about our new custom internal browser that works specifically with QBDT: Use our built-in browser in QuickBooks Desktop.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see the detailed steps on how you can get your desktop file ready to start importing to QuickBooks Online: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to let me know in the comments if you have other concerns about data management and questions about using IE in QBDT. I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success.
