So according to the latest post (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/update-products/update-quickbooks-des...), we're supposed to have a new, built-in browser to use.

However, when testing  QB Pro Plus 2022 with the latest update installed (R5), you can't even open QB without IE being installed.

 

Which means one of two things. Either QB still relies on IE, which leaves a huge security gap (but then again, I've complained for years that Intuit never cared about security for reasons I won't go into here again), or developers didn't bother to remove from the launch process, a check for IE. 

 

So did they not bother testing QB on a machine without IE or are they lying to us about not needing IE?

Either way, its disgraceful. 

 

 And the only browser process I'm seeing running when launching QB is the cefSharp.browserSubprocess, which is certainly not "their new custom browser".
