RE:"As of the moment, we do not yet have an official statement from our engineers regarding the demise of IE. They may still be working on options for what to do once it stops."

It's weird that you wrote what you wrote because Intuit has already shipped at least two, if not three, different versions of QuickBooks that now use your new custom browser, which as Intuit states is "reliable and will include critical security updates." Given that Intuit is so proud of their new browser, it's odd they didn't tell you.

You'll never get and official statement from Engineers. Engineers don't make such statements. Product Management does.

However, there's this, which seems like an official statement to me, given that you've published it here in the community:

"Internet Explorer 11 is the current browser for QuickBooks Desktop, but as of June 15, 2022, Microsoft won’t support it. ... All supported QuickBooks Desktop versions will start to use our custom browser. It’s reliable and will include critical security updates.2"

1. This custom browser will only be supported in QuickBooks Desktop Pro/Premier/Enterprise/Accountant 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 versions.
