Hi there, margaret. Let's work together to ensure you can update the dates of your bank transactions.
You'll need to post or categorize the transactions before editing the dates. While I understand you'd prefer to update them before posting, QuickBooks doesn't support date changes within the Bank transactions page. After posting or categorizing, you can then locate the associated account's bank register to update the dates as needed.
Before proceeding, confirm that the dates in your bank statement match those in QuickBooks. Doing this ensures your accounts reconcile correctly and all transactions are matched. Once verified, follow the steps below to proceed:
- From the Bank transactions page, Post the bank transactions.
- Then, Go to bank register (You can also locate the associated accounts in the Chart of accounts).
- Select the transactions and update the correct date.
- Once done, click Save.
Moving forward, I recommend carefully reviewing the mapping of your CSV file to ensure accuracy before importing. Refer to this article for guidance: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.
