Hello there, @wernerh. I'll share some insights about how you can seamlessly reactivate a QuickBooks program on a new computer.
Based on your scenario, it seems that you're using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) since you're being asked for a validation code when moving to a new PC. It is only available in the US, UK, and Canada regions.
If you're using a supported version, you can manually activate your QBDT account using these steps:
- Open your QBDT company and select the Help menu.
- Next, click the Activate QuickBooks Desktop option.
- From there, follow the steps on the screen to verify your info.
Here's an article for your reference: Activate QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
However, if your QBDT version is no longer supported, I recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team to further help you activate it. They can pull up your account in a secure place and provide a validation code that you can use.
- From the Help menu, select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
- Next, click Contact Us.
- From there, enter a brief description of your issue. Then, select Continue.
- Sign in to your Intuit account, select Continue and then Continue with my account.
- You'll receive a single-use code. Enter it and select Continue.
- Select to Chat with us or Have us call you.
Furthermore, you can visit this article to learn more about fixing issues related to your product and license numbers: Fix activation, license, and product numbers issues. Please note that this article is applicable to the US version.
I'm always here, ready to lend a hand if you have other concerns about activating your account. Take care.
