I'm here to help you change a product item from Inventory to Non-inventory in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
QuickBooks doesn't have a direct way to change the item type from Inventory to Non-inventory. Instead, you'll have to zero out the quantity and make the inventory item inactive. Here's how:
- Sign in to your QBO account.
- Click the Gear icon, then select Product and Services.
- Find the inventory item. Make sure the item has zero quantity.
- Select the drop-down arrow beside Edit and select Make inactive.
- Click Yes to confirm.
- Once done, you can create a new non-inventory item to replace it.
