Hi there, @PelicanCondosPA.
In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), there are different tools to help fix problems and errors and these tools can be found in our QuickBooks Tool Hub. This can fix issues such as 6123, H202, Company file issues, Install issues or errors, Networking errors, PDF and printing errors, and QuickBooks crashing.
Since you can't open QBDT as it freezes, we can make use of our Tool Hub. For your best experience, I'd suggest using Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit.
First, let's download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how:
- Close QuickBooks.
- Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub's most recent version (1.6.0.3). Save the document in a location that's easy to find (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). If you've installed Tool Hub before and can't find which version you have, just click on the Home tab and the version will be displayed at the bottom.
- Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
- Follow the on-screen steps to install.
- When done installing, double-click on the icon on your Windows desktop to open. If you can't find the icon, search for QuickBooks Too Hub on your Windows.
Second, we can now resolve your issue using the resources in the QuickBooks Tool Hub. A selection of tools is available on each tab that assists various problem types. We can utilize the Program Problems as it aids in resolving typical issues that arise when you open the application, such as the one you are dealing with at the moment.
Please note that if you need to install a tool from the hub, it'll automatically download in the background for 2-3 minutes. Closing out the installation might cause the tool not to run.
You can refer to this article for more information about the process: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
Additionally, I've included these articles that discuss the top data damage errors you might encounter in QBDT and how you can dix these data damages:

Hello there, Pelican. Let's ensure you're able to open your QuickBooks Desktop seamlessly.
You're likely experiencing an installation or company file issue, which causes the freezing problem in QuickBooks. Let me guide you through some troubleshooting procedures to rule this out.
- Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release so the program has the latest features and fixes.
- Ensure the file you want to open is a company file (.QBW). You can't access other file types, like backups (QBB) and portable files (QBM) the same way.
- Make sure your file isn't compressed or encrypted:
- Right-click the company file and hit Properties.
- Select Advanced.
- Remove the Compress and Encrypt checkboxes.
- Click on OK.
If the issue persists, perform solutions 2, 3, 4, and 5 from this module: Can't open your company file in QuickBooks Desktop.
I'll also include this extra guide on how to resolve other errors on your company data: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to lend a helping hand. Keep safe.
