Other Questions
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community forum, Albert. We're excited to have you here. I’ll provide information about the available Quickbooks Desktop Reader, but first, I need to clarify a few details.
Before we continue, could you specify the source from where you've found the desktop software reader you mentioned? Are you referring to a third-party application? Any additional information you can share will be much appreciated.
For now, we only partnered with Movemybooks to convert and transfer your company file to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Therefore, Intuit or QuickBooks doesn't offer a dedicated reader for QuickBooks Desktop files. Check out this article: QuickBooks Desktop discontinuation support hub.
However, if you're referring to third-party software, while we cannot endorse a specific product, I recommend checking the suggestions from other users that could help you choose the right solution.
Moreover, please note that you'll have view-only access to your old company data for 12 months. During this time, you may want to export your data to another software program or use a cloud-based storage solution for remote access. By following these steps, you can effectively manage your historical data and ensure you have the resources necessary for your ongoing business operations.
I've included a few articles to learn how your books moved from QBDT to QBO and how to make the most of QBO's features:
- Find out how your books will move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online
- Get Started with QuickBooks Online
I'm still here to assist you with any additional data migration needs for your company file to the online version. Feel free to reach out whenever you need help.
