Can't change GST rates
I have gone into the edit tax page but found no option to edit the rates at all. There are only options to turn on/off the rates or add a new item. What else can i do?

I appreciate you trying to edit the GST rate, Jon Appleseed.
In QuickBooks Online, you're unable to edit a rate once it has been created. To use a different rate, deactivate the current one, then create a new rate.
Here's how:
- From the Tax Centre, use the side arrows to find the tax you want to deactivate.
- Click Edit tax in the top right corner.
- Select Edit rates.
- Select the green toggle option.
- For custom rates - Under Action, click Edit and then click Make inactive.
Please know that you can't have two rates with the same name. You need to rename the deactivated rate and make a new tax rate with the correct name. If you wish to set up another tax agency, you can refer to this article: Create a custom tax agency.
Ready to file and pay your Tax/GST, this article will show you how to do it: Learn how to file and pay the Tax/GST you owe using the QuickBooks Online International version.

Hello there, Starry.
I'll ensure you can remove the duplicate rates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
I've read on the other thread and it seems like you've manually created a new tax rate. In line with the recent tax changes in Singapore, we have updated the GST rates in QuickBooks Online from 7% to 8% to remain compliant.
To fix this, let's turn off the tax rate you've manually created under the Action column. Here's how:
- Go to Taxes.
- In the top right-hand corner, select the Edit GST dropdown then Edit rates.
- Select the tax rate and turn off the radio button under Action.
- Click Yes to confirm.
