I may be misunderstanding your issue, but it sounds like you have the default printer for that set to one of the pdf options. Check which printer is your default printer in Windows. I was having that issue and found that in the printer settings for my computer it was set to " let Windows manage my default printer" When I unclicked that box, then I got much more control, and then the last printer option I'd used came up instead of always the pdf version.
