Other Questions

Hello manymaples15,

It's been a while since your last post to the QuickBooks Community and I hope you've been well! I want to make sure you have the correct information for importing your Excel files into QuickBooks Online, and I can absolutely help you with this.

When importing files into QuickBooks Online, it's important to match the formatting that QuickBooks asks for. You can do this by opening and editing your Excel file to match the options available. You can even try changing the date format that's the default for your QuickBooks Online setup by going to the Gear icon, choosing Account and settings, selecting Advanced, and then clicking the Other preferences section. Keep in mind that if your Excel file has a date format that QuickBooks doesn't accept, then you'll need to change the file.

Some upload processes also have specific date options that may be separate from even what you've set as the default in your settings. Usually these are seen during the upload process and then you change your file accordingly. The resources already provided on this thread are for QuickBooks Desktop US, so for QuickBooks Online Canada, please use the following links to learn more about importing.

Give those a go and let me know if you have further questions or need an extra hand.

If you'd rather not have to reformat your Excel file, you can consider third-party import options available through the Apps tab. Select that tab in the left menu of your account and then use the search bar to research apps that can import different sets of data for you.

Wishing you the best with this!
