Hi there, wholman. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to help get your mobile app working smoothly so you can add expenses without any issues.
Can you confirm if the server connection you mentioned is the one preventing you from adding an expense item?
Please note that server issues are often caused by backend problems such as server downtime, misconfigurations, or network connectivity errors. To address these, ensure a stable internet connection to and from the server, and regularly monitor its performance and resources to prevent overload or other disruptions.
On top of that, clearing your app's cache can help resolve unexpected issues caused by outdated or corrupted data, ensuring optimal and reliable performance.
For iOS
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap General, then tap iPhone Storage.
- Find and select the app you want to clear from the list.
For Android
- Go to your mobile phone's Settings.
- Navigate to Apps, then select the QuickBooks Online app.
- Tap Storage & Cache, then click Clear cache.
If the problem persists, I recommend uninstalling the app. You can do this by tapping and holding its icon, then reinstalling it to ensure you have the latest version.
After that, log back into the app to check if it is already working.
If not, log in to your QuickBooks account using a supported web browser on your desktop or mobile device to add an expense.
