The ability to add discount per line item is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO) South Africa. As a workaround, you can follow the steps shared by my colleague Jen_D above.
I can see how having this option would be helpful for you and your business. I'll pass along your suggestion to our Product Developers. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QBO.
